colic

Abundance brings me thankfulness
While famine brings me shame
Or abundance makes me forget that
I ever called on God by name.

Three months old in a haystack
Hope for more than just a hunch
The proof is in the pudding
While the pudding is in my lunch.

Jesus makes me happy
Mohammad makes me think
Agnostics keep me searching
While death just makes me stink.

Inconsolable at the outcome
What a reflection can become
Stress, duress, and excess
In remembrance of a Son?

Affluent ever reaching
“Infant weeps” for no cause
Maybe something’s in his eggnog
And lactose has given him pause.

  3. Veronica Hill on

    …and yet again.

    i’m always impressed
    and willingly glady forced to
    think…

  4. I traveled inward to find myself
I traveled inward to find God
Birthed out of the dirt and the muck and the mire
    Baptized in water
    Cleansed by the fire
I traveled inward to find myself
I traveled inward to find God

May this holy season of consecration be a time filled with
    Joy, Love and Peace.

MERRY CHRISTMAS KENN ! oh, and a Happy New Year. 🙂

  5. Like you read my mind Bivins:

    “Jesus makes me happy

As usual, you know I’m a fan of your work and the inner machinations of your mind that produce this kind of material in the 1st place.

    Happy Holidays 🙂
