love is the final fight

John M. Perkins

John M. Perkins is an American civil rights leader. Born 1930 in Mississippi to a sharecropper, he grew up in the dire poverty and bitter racism of the time. At the age of 17, his older brother was murdered at the hands of a town marshall, so he fled the state vowing never to return. Yet in 1960, Dr. Perkins and his wife, Vera Mae Perkins, felt compelled to go back to help the poor in rural Mississippi.
“His life is living proof that love does conquer all, including violence and hatred. Love is the final fight.”
Jon Foreman of Switchfoot

Ok, I totally get it now why you love Switchfoot soooo much.
Not only is their message/ministry incredible, they are just a
really tight rock group. I love, love this song. 🙂

I have always loved and found freedom from when the man asks Jesus what
is the greatest commandment and Jesus basically told the man LOVE.
For if we walk in love we won’t steal or kill or lie or envy or cheat or
intentionally try to hurt another person.

Truly “Love Is The Final Fight”…by the way I know you bought the t-shirt. 🙂

It is difficult to SAY that you love your enemies. It is near impossible to SHOW that you love your enemies. I’ve learned that loving them is NOT co-signing their wrongdoing but instead loving them past that.
