we we we

Once
Upon a time
There was only you
And it was all about only you.
For who could skew that illusion
Or that dim, dank, selfish and insecure view
For that was long before the advent of me and my attempts to woo
For then you could claim “non compos mentis” but now those claims are untrue.

Enter:
Him or me
And the potential of a “we”
But I’m obstructing your reflection
And who you really adore is missing your affection
While past suitors, beaus, and less-thans were added to your collection
I as he could stand out and offer some semblance of emancipation or protection
Relegating others and all who could only offer parcels of regret to the visitors’ section

Happily
Ever after
You and I could be
If only your “I” was released
And your eye could see a “we”
Glass slippers fit for a fairytale to be
No dragons left to slay and narcissism left to bleed
Calligraphy past the drawbridge over troubled waters and your “me”
One little piggy was all alone while two little piggies cried “we we we”…

All the way home.

Very well done (though it made me kinda sad). How most of us long to be a “we”

Another beautiful piece of work. You grabbed my attention with once upon a time, and took me along with you to ever after.

in writing, you are secretly (in some cases) writing about “self”. the subject matter may stimulate one to write. however, it always turns into YOUR point of reference. i’m pretty sure that not even on the deepest-one dimensional perspective of this piece/peace applies to all, not just some.

Perhaps this could be the beginnings’ of self-help for those who publicly don’t want to admit to how this deeply affects us (but in secret- ME)

I wrote this piece a long while ago but based on some new material I’m writing and working through, this piece is so very relevant as if I just wrote it.

What a way to seal the message lol! Love it.

    My favorite line:
    “But I’m obstructing your reflection
And who you really adore is missing your affection”

Beautiful way to show the truth. Even a self-centered individual can’t miss that lol!
