yesternight, full moon rocked
this night’s show, autumnal equinox
day and night are equal, again
yin and yang and us akin
spring, I fell forward
but now I just Fall in.

what’s coming next

forget what’s gone.
appreciate what still remains.

carrion

Bedside or roadside, life ebbs then subsides
Bleeding from inside, drivers all just pass by

Yesterday or previous, part of some great ‘what was’
Vultures circle up above, ashes to ashes then dust

Newborn to carrion, I mourn while I tarry some
While life ends and new pretends, I will carry on.

dawn of night

Look both ways before you cross the street
Don’t drop your left and move your feet
Mind your elders, your ma’ams and sirs
Always fear God, nice guys finish first

colic

Abundance brings me thankfulness
While famine brings me shame
Or abundance makes me forget that
I ever called on God by name.

corporate meeting

silent outside. restrained voices
and murmur or muffle of sound.
incoherent. beating irregular.

inside. behind the transparent walls,
shutting out the silence, I scream.
Shrieking. Clawing. Gasping.

Glass breaks. Metal crumples.
Concrete crumbles. Water violently sloshes.
Am I really here? Still?
