Time, it opens our wounds
And trust, gonna put me in the tomb
The world isn’t mine
The world isn’t mine to save
I can’t afford to lose
What you easily throw away
random

june 1, 2011
Today is my birthday.
I’m 41.
I don’t feel it,
Still.
THANK YOU
Thank you to the countless United States soldiers who have died while in military service to my country. Freedom is not free and you have paid a dear price for mine. I honor your memory and your sacrifice.
Thank you.
dark girls preview
This is a preview of the forthcoming documentary, “Dark Girls” by acclaimed director, Bill Duke. It explores the emotional topic of prejudice and discrimination targeted toward dark-skinned women in the Black community. Sadly, a lot of that prejudice comes from within the color barrier.
recess recession
Recess and lunch – those are the two sweet words of my youth. The kid in me still looks forward to both. The adult in me looks forward to some relief from this recession that everyone on Wall Street is saying is over while everyone on My Street is still feeling.
God is nearer
I wake up. The sun winks at me. The birds have already begun rehearsing for their concert later. It will be glorious.
the end is near
The end of the world is coming. Again.
